In Extremis is the project of an anti-waste food company. In France in 2018, food waste represents more than 10 million tons of products. Consumers are responsible for 33% of the waste. The majority of waste occurs during the production, processing and distribution of products. It is on these points that decided to focus In Extremis.
The first food product that In Extremis wants to value is bread. Bread is a food product that is well anchored in the French diet and accounts for more than 10% of food waste.
This bread is dried, crushed, reduced in flour and used to make biscuits for breakfast.
The ambition of In Extremis is to develop, to imagine new ranges of products from unsold bread, but not only. Valuing ugly fruits and vegetables that are excluded from distribution channels is another area of development for In Extremis.
By addressing the waste that occurs during the production of food products, In Extremis wants to educate industry on their impact on waste. By distributing products created from existing products and revaluing, In Extremis wants to educate consumers. It is therefore the entire population and the actors responsible for the food waste that In Extremis wants to touch through its activity.
